Bookish Update – Rebel With A Cause

Holy Dang you guys, I could be in a lot of trouble. If the Library calls you, don’t tell them where I am! I have three overdue books right now, but the website is showing my fine at .50, so that’s pretty cool. I’m returning them tomorrow! I’m not sure why I’m so terrible! Okay, I’ve been procrastinating on reading. It seems like every night I’ve had something going on that stopped me from picking up a book. Tonight, it was messing around on the internet. Yep. Terrible.

Thanks to my lovely parents, I was able to finish Canticle for Leibowitz yesterday. I don’t know what happened to me, that book had a great ending but it took me about a week to read the last 20 pages. I just put it down, then I assumed that the [redacted] would [redacted] and I was right! Although the [redacted] being delivered by the weird god-baby-head was a nice twist. So totally read it!

My parents contributed by distracting the girls. And then feeding them lunch. Grandparents are awesome.

Anyway, the image I’ve been using for the Bookish Update posts (you only see this if you go to bookishdad.com main page) is a shot of Canticle so I’ll post it here. I love the way the light from my window played across the open book that afternoon. I was reading it during nap time, and had to grab my camera. It’s nice when life gives you a little gift, and the means to remember it.

How’s your reading coming along? How many books have you got down so far, and what do you love?

That happened to me recently; the book was good so far, but for some reason I felt like watching something on Netflix or browsing the internet…so it took forever to finish.

Kind of glad it’s not just me.

Also…I haven’t been to a library in a long time, except to register for a card so I could download digital library books (lol)…but do they have the same/better/worse collection than the Free Amazon Kindle book library? I am finding it hard to find good books on the free section. I am worried they are only free because of a this-book-sucks reason.
